Adoption Policies and Process
The first step in the process of adopting a pet from Companion Cats is to complete an Adoption Application. It provides information that enables us to assist you in the selection of a pet. Together, we will be able to determine if the adoption is in the animal’s best interest, and the process ensures that you will find an animal well-suited to your lifestyle. Please provide detailed information for all application questions.

Our adoption fee is $80.00 (or $120.00 for two) for cats one-year of age or older. Kittens under one-year of age are $100.00 or $150.00 for two. Adoption fee includes the cost for general care while being fostered, spaying/neutering, age appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, testing for FIV/FeLV and and other medical care of the animal. Cats and kittens must be spayed/neutered before adoption.
To be considered as an adopter you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid driver’s license or Michigan Identification Card stating your current address
- Have the knowledge and consent of a landlord, if relevant (you are required to provided the name and phone number of your landlord.)
- Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment, proper nourishment and care, and training for a pet
